Askjeeves & Overture
Is Overture still partially powering AJ results?

Hi,
I was doing some tests with searches on AJ and found some of our ads. But we're not in the AJ SEM program, we are in overtures.

Is AJ partially using results from overture and combining with it's own program?

Thanks

Isn't it AdWords that still goes along Ask's sponsored links..? I didn't think Ask and Overture had a relationship at all.

No, overture owned AltaVista, and powered their results. AskJeeves uses Google's AdWords.

What you might be seeing is AskJeeves picking up some of Yahoo's results, which DOES have an overture relationship (they own overture now).

Skuba, the way that AJ shows ads is as follows:

Default PPC listings come from Google AdWords.

Advertisers can set up an AJ advertising account and their ads can be shown above the Google AdWords backfill, if their bids meet the minimum cpc limit determined by AJ. This price varies per keyword.
