(Nasdaq:ASKJ - news) on Thursday posted sharply higher profit and revenue, helped by strong Web search advertising and an acquisition last year that roughly doubled its size. Oakland, California-based Ask Jeeves said net income from continuing operations rose to $17.1 million, or 25 cents per share, from $7.6 million, or 13 cents. Revenue nearly tripled to $86.1 million from $31.8 million. |
