Lots of discussion on this subject elsewhere on the net. I was hoping to see some input on Teoma's upgrades here. I like the MyJeeves personal "saved" search feature with annotations. Tookaroo is on the horizon, Q4, and then searchers will be afforded full desktop search. Combine this with the bookmarked personal search files and Jeeves is ahead of all the other search companies. You have to like the sector leadership the butler is taking. A9s news was big but this comes with underlying tech innovations.

Most interesting is the associating with Topix.net. Topix is of great interest to most here, since it was founded by Open Directory founder Rich Skrenta [webmasterworld.com].

Topix, they have a listing in the ODP in the same regional cat my site is in. The cat is for a tiny town in texas, with no stores, no place to eat, no place to stay. Other than the cotton gin, small school & our modest establishment, there is nothing here. Topix does not list any news for the Town(never seen any news about this town, anywhere) & We are about than 25 miles from a large west texas city. Should Topix really be allowed so many listings in the ODP, in cats for every little town? Sounds like special treatment to me, and kinda breaks the 2 listings per site(one primary cat/one regional cat(provided you meet the requirments)) provided I understand the listing requirements correctly. Is this what you are referring to Brett, or did it go sailing right over the top of my head? Thumpcyc

Speaking of topix.net. For all those localized news links they connect to, are there any copyright infringement issues? They don't really generate any content of their own. It's just a link clearing house. Is that legal? Just curious....

Is the screenshot function -- available for some sites by clicking on the binoculars image -- something recent? I hadn't seen that before last week. Jim

The binoculars thing is part of their Smart Search functionality rolled out last June. [webmasterworld.com...] Maybe they rolled it back in then rolled it back out again? I don't use AJ enough to notice.
