I just found out that one of the people who was running for gov of California is the Founder of AskJeeves.com, and that would be Garrett Gruener.

Every advertisement I heard for him in the past didnt ring a bell until I was doing some research and found in this article [insidevc.com] a statement:
But the problem is that his search site on the Web has better name recognition than he does.

This post is not to turn political, he is not running anymore just figured the guy was in the news and media. Did any other Search Engine founders run for office? :P

Even Jeeves doesn't have the answer.

who will win [web.ask.com]

Top Teoma results refer to the 2000 and 2002 elections.

Hmmm, GoogleGuy for Governor. It has a nice ring to it. Good alliteration. ;) But then I'd have to show up in person if I won, right? Better to play it safe and stay out of the race. :)

I'm in LA...I have top listings in askj., not any visitors though... get more from top listings in altavista baby...still nothing that converts....
get about 1,000x both above visitors at google and converts AND pays for my vacations and my rent.

Is Googleguy on the ballet? I vote GOOGLE!

Someone tell me about Garrett Gruener's current position with AJ. Any background on his running or what provoked the search engine guy to do this?

Speaking of Gary Coleman, I saw him at a high school I used to go to a few years back (Venice High in Los Angeles), working as a security guard. Sad, I'd say. :\

Be sure to vote for Panic as the next California Governor tommorrow. :D
