Started seeing Serps shift around, mostly up in my case, though some very surprising up's that i've never really targetted, due to trying to stay under the radar on certain brand name terms, which would be a little naughty to start coming up well in the SERPs for.
Certainly as it stands, i can't tell whether its the beginning or the end or whether this is the start of the 'something new coming from teoma's way'
For the past month or so I've been seeing much more focused and specific results. Not sure if that is the best way to say it, but for example a search for something like 'this location widget' will return SERPs with very specific widgets, not a lot of guides and directories that dominate our segment (and which Google still overwhelmingly returns).
At PubCon Paul Gardi said (in his very low-key rounds) that a lot of tinkering was going on under the hood. So far as a searcher I think the results are much better than Google. For the handful of terms I popped in this morning the most authoritative site was always in the top 5 with, again, clusters of very specific, very relevant widgets that G often overlooks.
I'm using it almost exclusively to put together a new directory because the specific widgets I need to find are within the first few pages, not buried 20 or 30 pages in like G.
If Google wasn't so entrenched with its existing contracts I think Teoma would certainly give it a run for the money. Things change quickly in Internet time, wonder what's going on behind the scenes business-wise.
