Proposal to move Looksmart
...to the "Pay Per Click Advertising Engines" forum

Given Looksmart's dramatic move from directory to primarily PPC, should it not now be relegated to the PPC forum in disgrace?

The present company in the PPC forum should not be judged by association! PPC can be a viable and honest basis for a commercial, yellow pages type database, as Overture proves (to some extent as many companies try to cover up the paid basis of their incorporated Ov listings). Google's Ad Words can now also be classified in there.

The PPC forum should not be a disgraceful place per se, but putting Ls there now may make it perceived to be!

Maybe WebmasterWorld should create a "Dodgy Search Engine Forum" :)

Or maybe one related to Internet Business Ethics (or lack of)..

It would make it too hard to have all of the search engines lumped into just one gigantic forum, chiyo. It would take forever to find specific threads. ;)

Sorry, the "in disgrace" part was just in relation to Looksmart itself, not towards all PPC engines. However, I do consider the PPC type of engine to be a lesser being than something like Google, ODP or Fast :)
