Thanks Mike, interesting idea you've got. Rating is an interesting concept, also. Are you thinking of member suggested links to threads here at the board, or others too?

It sounds like it would be a seperate forum/area like a resource directory, consisting of member-submitted links... Perhaps paynt could work some of her vortal-voodoo on it... Could be a great resource IF managed carefully and correctly.

another topic is still recent in my mind... the area would have to be carefully controlled so people just don't url drop. Would the resource links be to informational sites such as articles, etc. or to product pages?

I was thinking something like pointers to JavaScripts, CGI resources, free editors, tutorials, etc. It may be for the sake of discouraging self-promotion that you might just impose a ban on links to commercial software and services. I wouldn't suggest it if not for the self-disipline I see among most of the members here. An automated 10 votes, majority rule to kick or keep a link up would keep the burden on the admins to a minimum once the system is implemented.
