I run a forum about a DJ called Dave Clarke. At the moment we run it as an EZBoard. Would you consider offering the coding for Webmasterworld, and if so, for how much? It's a personal site, I run it as a hobby.
First, there is something that maybe possibly, could be in the works in this regard. Traditional phase of moon issues involved - alot of stuff has to happen first.
Second, everything at this point is embedded. When I say embedded, I mean it's hard coded. Things like changing forum descriptions require editing code. It's all for speed. There's not a perl based forum on the net that can compare to our speed considering our significant page views (I'd guess 2nd only to /.)
So, to run it, you'd be running a WebmasterWorld clone (forums and all).
Stay tuned to see if the moon does turn up in the right phase within the next month or two...
I'd be very interested in this Brett. I am looking for a forum software program. I'd definitely sign on. The speed of the software is lightning quick. The hard coding isn't that big of deal because I am sure it could be edited fairly easily. (for the most part)
