> either way going to london on the wrong day is havoc EXACTLY what we want help with now regarding setting the date. Is there any conflict like that (or some other industry event) with either the first or second weekend in October?

Definitely don't want to be there if they are having an event like our COMDEX in Vegas!

Ammon, maybe we'll get someone to bake you a cake. Any school holidays or industry events around your birthday?

Late October is the school half-term holidays (the kids only go back to school from the long, long summer break in early September). Industry events... unless its a pubconference I never pay attention to 'em. :)

OK, thanks guys. Still looking good for early October. Anybody that knows of any major conflicts that would affect a chunk of our membership, now is definitely the time to speak up.

rcjordan, The half term school holiday will be 21 - 25 October it seems, thus the two weekends of 19/20 and 26/27 might be a bit busy, in which case might be a good idea to avoid those to have a chance of a seat on the tube. Early Christmas shoppers might be out in force then too. Pleeeeeease make it the 11/12, it's my Brother's birthday the weekend before... but who am I hey?:)

Anyone know of anything where the weekend of Oct 4-6 would be a conflict?

Better for me would be after the 12th, which is pay day.

Brett, you'd said earlier in another thread that you were thinking the first or second weekend in October. I could do either, but the second weekend is the best. Third weekend is bad, fourth weekend OK. My calendar doesn't show any UK holidays to worry about in October. FYI, Oktoberfest in Germany ends on the first weekend, October 6. People making the jump from the US might want to go to that, so having it the same weekend might not be good. There's Columbus Day in the US on the 14th, but that doesn't really seem to matter much to folk, day-off wise or travel discountwise. So...I'd vote for the weekend of Oct. 12 and 13th.

Any date's fine by me as long as there's a good notice period. I'll be coming down from Scotland, so if anyone needs a loan of umbrellas... I'd very very happy to help out in any way and I'm sure that others would too. My guess is that this year will be pretty popular. Calum

12th/13th is certainly good for me. Gives me just enough time to recover from my Birthday hangover before earning another one. :) Gonna be great to see you all. Ammon Johns

I was hoping for 5-6th so my birthday hangover could coincide with my BarCon one... More than one hangover a month leaves me a bit tired. ;)
