Thanks to Little and a couple others for pointers on switching the whole board to mod_rewrite powered. That's why the regulars should feel the board is faster now.

We were run 100% ssi files. The switch over helped in ways I never would have believed. Less disk space used, faster, and allows us to control some new things like http headers.

Sorry for all the changes and disruptions lately. As the system grows in size and usage, I've had to rework how the board generates content. The difference between 20k views a day and 50k views a day is quite significant. Next stop: 100k views a day (goal 2002).

They'll be a couple more changes that might mean momentary glitches in the normal midnight maint hour.

If you see any problems that persist, please let me know.

Sounds like you're making some pretty interesting enhancements to the site. Any chance of releasing or licensing the source code that you use?

Everything is very quick loading, even with 56K dialup. Very smooth.
