System rebooted - handful of responses lost

The system was backed up this morning around 8:10cst (2:10gmt) and reset around 8:35. Messages posted between those times were lost on the system. I'm trying to dig them out of email and repost every one. The only trouble, is that 8:00-8:45am cst, is our busiest posting time. I have no way of sorting out the email by time, so it's hunt and peck through 10k messages trying to find the 8:xx am ones.

Brett ... I think that's going a little over the top!!! People should know which messages they wrote and if they are gone ... they can repost.

I think everyone here will understand. Take a break ... go have a bear. I'm sure nothing "earth shattering" was lost!

Hehe... we've got plenty of bears up here, but they'd be hard to get a hold of this time of year.

OK ... so I'm the one that needs a BEER! You'll have to forgive me, I have scarlet fever. Can't eat, can't sleep and I have to stay on the computer to stop from scratching! Not doing too well in the "speeling" arena today!

Scarlet fever, really? I thought that was one of those diseases that had mostly gone away, like tuberculosis.

Perhaps a cool shower and some nice iced tea?

I also thought scarlet fever was a thing of the past, but here in the islands, we are subjected to anything and everything going in the world due to visits by vacationers. It took the docs nearly two weeks to diagnos what it was. They originally thought (as I did) that it was dengue fever.

I'll tell you ... you never want to get this. The itching is horrendous. I just want to peel my skin off! Where is that bear?

I have it! Take a nice shower to clean up, then soak in a cool beer bath... and bring a straw! (And one of those inflatable around-the-neck pillows so you don't slip under if you drift off to sleep)

The alternative is a calamine lotion bath, which doesn't sound nearly as fun.

But seriously, I've heard good things about cool oat baths for itching... don't know why soaking in cold oatmeal tea would help, but that's what I hear.

That works when the itch is produced by something attacking the skin. Unfortunately, this is caused by the fever and there is little or nothing which can be done to help the itch. The beer bath sounds like a wonderful idea ... now if I just had a bathtub! (Shower only)

Scarlet Fever? Doesn't that come with a Southern Accent, Mansion, Rhet, and a sequel???

Wow Liane!

*as I work frantically to put Liane's post through my antivirus program*

Is this contagious?

now if I just had a bathtub!

Well, what about an old-timey galvanized steel tub? Or 1/2 of a 55 gal. drum? Or a stock watering tank? An empty wooden barrel?
