| Some day this week when the smoke finally clears, I will give a full accounting of what just occurred. |
| Looking forward to it. It should read like a saga - or maybe a horror story!

| It will specifcy that WebmasterWorld will not be offline for no more than 4 hrs maxium regardless of the circumstances. |
| Will you pay members for not being able to post pro rata to their estimated lost post count? ;) BBC TV (UK) today reported a rather strange pick up in IT productivity across the globe...

Thanks - no matter how difficult it was to rewrite about a meg of code, the good news is that we have a new top of the line server that should work considerably better than the old one. Don't be surprised if you see some glitches this week.

And I thought it was only the AdSense stats that I checked every hour. Take WW away for a few days, and I learn that I have two addictions. Welcome back. You were missed.

Man was I glad to see the home page back up and running. Every time I tried to get here and got one of the messages it reminded me of the fiasco I went through when an x-host lost my whole site and all of the clients sites in an upgrade. I had automatic back ups set up by FTP for html and data and recovered in great shape, once I moved all the sites to another host.

I feel for you Brett and Hawkgirl. My former hosting facility had a problem and it shut me down for 24 hours. I cant even imagine what you went through. All the other forums will now be reporting a drastic drop in bandwidth. Seriously, I would love to see how no WW impacted others' traffic.

Congratulations Brett! Not only did you suffer a serious disruption and recover from it, you managed to provide an interim site for WW members to use and presented a reasoned and rational face to the members and the public. Quite an achievement. Again, congratulations.

This new server is very snappy.... I predict that in a few weeks WW being offline will be a distant memory and everyone will still be appreciating the speed at which the pages now load.
