Meet the Google Engineers at WebmasterWorld's New Orleans Conference [webmasterworld.com]:

In an unprecedented move, Google is sending a team of engineers to support WebmasterWorld’s World Search Conference, being held in June 21-24, 2005. Conference delegates can get involved in roundtable sessions with the Google engineers on specific subjects of interest. In addition, the event will feature an invitation-only cocktail party where conference delegates can meet the engineers on specific subjects of interest and relevance.

In keeping with its focus on bringing you the fastest and easiest way to find relevant information, Google is pleased to invite you to an interactive session with the people that make it all happen – Google Engineers. We are excited to be providing a forum for you to ask the most intriguing questions and for you to get equally, if not more, intriguing answers. We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to come face to face with the people that make ideas and innovation come to life. As we go to work on themes and thoughts spanning "greater ROI", "less hassle", "more control" and "more inventory", we look forward to hearing from you about the same.

Join us for cocktails at the Park Plaza Hotel for some engaging conversations, deep discussions and a meeting of the minds. Please take a minute to fill out this registration form and we hope to meet you in person very soon.

Reception held in the Toulan Ballroom, Wednesday June 22, 6:00-8:00pm

Watch this url to go live later today:

Google will have approximatly 10 search engineers at the reception to answer questions. Also, Matt Cutts of Google will be onhand at Thursdays super session Search Engines and Webmasters (aka: Search Engine Smack Down ;-) ) along with Tim Mayer (Yahoo!), Rahul Lahiri (Ask Jeeves), and Eytan Seidman (MSN Search).

Did anybody get some kind of confirmation that the registration form was sent. When I hit the send button all I got was the same page with the information I entered.

Sorry, I meant the Google registration page.

I tried again and now I got a confirmation page saying that I would be reminded 1 week before the conference starts.

No idea why it did not accept the registration on the Google page before the only thing I changed was the phone nomber (I had ++41 as country code and now I put 0041) but maybe it was a temporary problem.

No confirmation email, Blackie.

You'll get a reminder a week before the event, as mentioned.

Wow, this is great. It is a shame I am on the other side of the ocean.

I am having my birthday next month. What should I say to have them come over?

Friday night we rode the street car that passes in front of where you all will be staying. We took it to the end of the line and got on the one that goes from the convention center to the French Market. We got off at the French Market and had some coffee at the Cafe Du Monde [cafedumonde.com]. That's the best I've found around. For some reason you can take the coffee home and brew it and it's not as good. We probably clean our pot too much.

We discovered a beautiful church about a block off of Canal St. on Baronne. Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church built 1928. The inside is worth the trip to N.O.

That place is fantastic! Brett any chance we can get the morning sessions moved to the Cafe Du Monde? Nothing like getting a bunch of web geeks hopped up on coffee!

Didn't get one yet - does this mean there was a oversite, or am I really not invited?

OK, suppose everyone here goes to the N.O. conference.
I can't go myself for lots of reasons. What happens to these WW discussions?
Should I subscribe to a newspaper or take up macrame?
I'm not into backyard farming.
What the heck do I read while all the heavies are in New Orleans? Tea leaves? Fortune cookies? -Larry
