I'm going to go to the June conference
Gonna show up in New Orleans

Anyone else planning on attending?

It's not that far a drive for me. And, 800 bucks at door is nothing compared to what I've learned, and profited from, on this site.

P.S. When do we have to register by? I couldn't find this info.

I'm waiting on my next Adsense check, so I can deposit them both at the same time, money low until raise from Google kicks in, will it still be $499 in a few days? I didn't see any deadlines posted.

I'll be there. I'm from Baton Rouge so I'll just head down for a week in N.O. Looking forward to filling in some gaps in my knowledge. When you get set in your work ways all that exposure opens you up.

I'm in the Florida panhandle. Just a little trip west. I've never been to New Orleans.

Hey bulldog how long is the early registration price good for? They don't actually have a day set on the registration page.

You can also get 10% off for being a supporter of the site. You can you also talk to one of the exhibitors for a 10% off coupon and you can also beg them for one of their limited 25% off coupons :-)

just be logged in to WebmasterWorld when you register - no need to use a coupon.

You can also get a 10% coupon from one of the many exhibitors [webmasterworld.com].

I'm in Houston, you will never be this close to me again. I need to go but where I work we all have vacation the first 2 weeks of July. I can beg and plead and stomp my feet and maybe get 2 days off. Where can I get a 25% off coupon, or do they have a day by day rate instead of having to pay for all days?

You can also get 10% off for being a supporter of the site. You can you also talk to one of the exhibitors for a 10% off coupon and you can also beg them for one of their limited 25% off coupons :-)

Does this mean you can get 20% off. 10% for being a supporter and another 10% if you have a coupon?

I'm planning to attend! This will be my first conference. I live right here in the New Orleans area.

I'm dying to meet some fellow webmasters and do some networking. I'll even bring the huge box of Mardi Gras beads from my garage and pass them out to anyone at the conf. who will pretend to be nice to me. LOL
Later you can take those beads down to Bourbon Street and use them to meet enthusiastic women. ;-)

Seriously though, do people put their screen names on their name tags, or wear tshirts with their websites on them? How do we know who everyone is? And what am I supposed to wear? ;-)

I think I'll be the one dressed in pink, with a matching hat. Decided to rent a car instead of driving mine. It's a longer drive than I originally thought. 6 hours.

Will there be name tags? I'll put spaceylacie on mine.

Some dress in business attire, some dress in business casual, some folks wear blue jeans and a t-shirt. Folks like me. ;)

I found it easy in Orlando to walk up and talk to anyone whatever they were wearing, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. This will be my third Pubcon/Webmaster World of Search. Orlando and Las Vegas were great and met a lot of good people.

Bayou_Gal, I'll be looking forward to some beads.

Shri, Its always a bit difficult to walk after a little Pubcon.

Flying in Sunday Night and Leaving Satuday. Cheers.

With the registration fee and hotel we are looking at $1000.00 easy. Lots of money just to party, not too much if I will really learn some new things. I am afraid I won't learn anything new as I have been at this for 8 years. So someone that has been before tell me one thing you learned there in the past that made it all worthwhile. I can see that it could be quite helpful to newbies, but please convince me that it is well worth the money for an old dawg.

Hotel is a max of $79 a night (or $49 through southwest) and the conference is only $450 (with coupon...) (1/3rd to 1/4th of other conferences). If you know a gold sponsor - you can also ask for one of their 25% off coupons. Given the massive expenses and risk involved in conferencing, the price is extremely reasonable.

> So someone that has been before tell me one thing

2003 Boston PubConf 4: Matt Cutts (Google) - No, download time is NOT a factor in the algo. Yes, age of domain is a factor. (the later fact was not publically known until the spring of 2005)

2003 Boston PubConf 4: Paul Gardi (Teoma) - Yes, we will increase the size of the database significatly over the next two years. (this was never talked about publically, but those playing Jeeves have totally understood the power of this info)

2004 Orlando PubConf 6: Tim Mayer (Yahoo), Yes, the engine is about to be launched and a new PPC system will be serviced by Overture. (this was a internet breaking story).

2004 Orlando PubConf 6: Dan Boberg (Overture), In the buy cycle, a four keyword phrases is where your ROI will jump by a factor of three. (This tidbit had never been talked about in public by an Overture rep - ever)

2004 Las Vegas PubConf 7 : Matt Cutts (Google), Build one page of fresh content a day. (This is the first time an se has specifically recommended a content creation rate for small sites. It would later in 2005 become extremely important after we discovered just how much of the Google algo is based on domain, link, and content age)

...

It pays for itself time-n-time again.

voices, no, you can't "combine" coupons - nice try though. hehe

I'm just wondering if the conference is going to be sold out before i have a chance to decide on going.

I have gone to the last 2 Webmasterworld conferences and was going to pass on this one; then the annoucement yesterday. It's hard to walk away from something like that. But what if everyone else thinks like i do? Won't it be sold out by Monday?

What announcement? Sold out hadn't even occured to me, I was going to wait till next week to beg for the time off.

Oh I see, the google thang.

Okay, a friend of mine is coming with me. She's going to drive her car.

We haven't registered yet. I need the $450 price because I'll be paying for both of us.

My boyfriend has made me promise to sleep on it on more night! Will tomorrow be too late to register?
