Well I got my hotel reservations. They have a rate of $79 a night plus 13% tax for the 19th through the 24th. I would try to get that as soon as possible. I would be shocked if the place is not completly booked a month before. I plan to be in New orleans Sunday afternoon. I have family around there so I will be getting in that area Saturday and plan to leave the area the next Sunday.

The hotel does have high speed internet for $10 a day. I am looking forward to this they are always a lot of fun.

David, did you call them for that rate? I didn't see any mention in Brett's notes if they were offering us special rates or not. When I checked their website, I'm getting a minimum of $100 per night.

I'll be there. Its in New Orleans and I'm from Baton Rouge so it'd be a shame to miss it. Haven't been to a conference since the London con so I think I'm about due. The Hotel is right there off of Canal which is good since its the easiest place to find. Looking forward to it.

Shri - Looking forward to it!

btw - My wife and daughter are coming with me this time. Told them not to 'cramp my style'. They just laughed and said "What style"... sadly I have to agree... :)

Hope to see you in Hong Kong before this too!

Sessions on Tues, Weds, Thurs. Pubcon Friday. Does this mean no sessions Friday morning and the opportunity to see some sights?

What time do you expect Pubcon to start on the Friday?

You need someplace to store the beads.

Go to a bar called Tropical Isle on Bourbon and order a drink called the hand grenade. ;)

woohoo! My hometown! I live here, so I have no excuses for missing it. This will be my first conference ever. I'm very excited. One question -- I don't have a pocket protector or any thick black framed glasses. Are these things really necessary for me to fit in? :-P

Bayou_Gal,

No way, no pocket protectors required at this conference for sure! Glad your going to make this your first one, it's gonna be a blast!

I wonder if they'll let me in club 360 or Ampersands wearing a pocket protector?

Ah, you see. You are thinking wrong kind of geek. They don't let you in unless you have pale skin (due to lack of sunlight) and can certify that you would take your laptop on a roller coaster. [webmasterworld.com] ;)

Since the price has gone up is there something special?

I'm booked! I'll be staying at the hotel Tuesday-Saturday. Even though I live just across the lake from there, I'd rather be right where the action is, so I booked a room. I keep checking the conference page, hoping to see an update, but no luck so far. (It's been a lot longer than the two weeks promised). Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hold tight for details. According to Brett, "Details in the next couple of weeks. :-) "

:) Me, too. Believe me, I can't wait for this conference. I love New Orleans, and I'm excited about some of the ideas I've heard for this conference. Once the details are firmed up and announced, we'll have fun talking about them!

P.S. I do not know if there is a connection between the two but each time we do PubConf - google is doing an update (with Yahoo it happened in the last two WITS conferences )

I got a room at the Iberville (about 2 blocks away). It was actually pretty inexpensive considering its Part of the Ritz Carlton.

This is my first post and will be my first conference. I'm psyched. Hotel booked 16th through the 26th. This is also our honeymoon city.

Love NO:)

I'm getting antsy again. Keep watching for an update on the conference almost as much as I keep watching for Google Adsense to update saying that they paid via EFT this month. Neither has yet happened, and and the month is quickly dwindling away. Free me from the pain of waiting! :)

WAIT! THERE IT IS! YOU UPDATED IT! HOORAY!

Thank you!

Ummm, where?

All I'm seeing is a new photo and this: "Session grid and details to be posted soon. Please see, the Vegas sessions for more info (they will be similar in nature)"

Am I missing something?

Well, the keynote speaker (John Battelle) has been added. Granted, we still don't see any sessions listed. :( But heck, I got excited to see even the one change. :)

Hoping for session information...

Hoping for sessio information...

Hoping...

BTW, when we arrive, do we need anything in particular to identify ourselves as having registered? Confirmation email, maybe?

Hang in there ... I promise you it's being worked on.

Yes, you must bring your confirmation email and a photo ID!
