StickyMail is our local message system you can find under the "StickyMail" mail at the top of every page. It is also a very popular feature with members and there have been a number of requests over the last few months for an update.

StickyMail 2.0
The target date is April 23rd for the release of StickyMail-PIM v2. It is not a complete rewrite; but the code that is there now will comprise about 20% of the new system - that's a pretty major upgrade.

During the upgrade, messages you currently are storing in folders "may" (figure it will) be lost. I do have a conversion routine to the new format, but "stuff happens", so assume it is all going to be lost. The reason for the conversion is that all message will no be encrypted on disk for privacy and security sake.

How to backup your StickyMail:

  1. Enter StickyMail and click on any folder name that has messages in it.
  2. Check the boxes next to any message you wish to keep.
  3. Click on the "E Forward" graphic button.
  4. You will be prompted what to do with some options at the bottom of the new screen.
  5. Click on the submit button to have the messages forwarded to your net email address as
  6. listed on your WebmasterWorld Profile.

Tip: if you have many folders and wish to save everything, try this:
Delete all your message you wish to keep to the trashcan folder first and then use the "select all" option and then "forward" as detailed above.

The update should occur over the weekend of the 21-22. So you are safe until then.
