Suggestion: preformatted code posts
[code] does not preserve formatting

Sorry to be so picky, but Javascript forums are where I hang out, so this is a real pet peeve of mine:

The [code] 'style code' does not preserve formatting, and [pre] doesn't either.

Now let me say: WebmasterWorld is awesome! Thanks for all the hard work :)

I think that a blank line will cancel out the formatting. One workaround is to use a "." in place of a blank line.

So
This is line 1
This is line 2

This is line 3 after a blank line

breaks, but
This is line 1
This is line 2
.
This is line 3 after a blank line

keeps the formatting intact.

Ditto for multiple spaces. You'll have to use "." to keep them from being squished into one space.

[ pre ][ /pre ] usually works well for keeping things on one line. What problems have you encountered?

For the line breaks, you can put an empty bbcode block to preserve the formatting. For example [ b ][ /b ] (without the spaces).

Thanks for your replies. You've confirmed that it wasn't just me making dumb mistakes - which I do often ;-)
