WW asks for Yahoo!Guy
We're waiting...

I thought I would post this thread as I have seen many people posting requests to get an offical Yahoo!Guy. I think it would be great to have an official voice at WW. Now with Yahoo! having their own SERPS and including new features and some yet to come things are gonna get crazy in here.

If Tim wants the job so be it but I think a name like Yahoo!Guy members will just know...

Maybe Yahoo!Girl?

So maybe Tim should create a new account (one with sticky mail off) called Mr. Yahoo! or Yahoo!Guy etc etc.

Still think Yahoo should be in the title.

Hope Tim is ready for how busy the Yahoo! Forums are going to get ;)

Guys, don't scare him away! If I were in his shoes and read this stuff, I'd want to become as scarce as possible.

Yes but the one reason Google has done so well at WW is because GoogleGuy posts quite often and it shows that the SE cares what the webmaster community thinks is important...

Tell me then why they even waste their time posting here or looking for that matter.

Don't they have better things to do with their time.

I think it's a personal project with GoogleGuy. I'm pretty sure he doesn't get a penny for hanging with us. Considering the amount of time and odd hours he spends in here, he's got great karma coming his way.

If I was in search of "search quality" at a major SE, I would want to know the techniques being used to game my engine. What better place to find out than WW?

Read the 'Cluetrain Manifesto' and add 'keep your friends close, but your enemies closer'.

Its good having GG here, but never forget that, at least half the time, we are both sleeping with enemy.

Yeah, I'd hesitate to call any of my major traffic providers "the enemy".

if GG and I show up in the same room the space-time continuum will collapse and life as we know it will come to an abrupt end.

Will this affect my search engine traffic?

I like 'Tim' too, but if you must bow to community pressure for more marketable bling-bling, my vote's for 'YahooDude'.

I do too - no need to change a thing Tim.

This isn't about rep'ing for the company or pulling pr strings - it is about building and maintaining quality business relationships and it is about the conversation. That is better done without the company name in the nick.

Ok after reading many posts I think this should be up to Tim.

Just the fact that we have a voice from Yahoo is great and I will be happy with what ever...
