Email confirmation from the Thistle
I am writing you to let you know about the availability and prices for the period of the Webmasterworld Conference.
Unfortunately we don't have the spase available to accommodate you on the Saturday 19 of September, but we still
have rooms available on the 17th, 18th and 20th.
The prices available for the conference on those dates are the following:
17/09 Standard Twin od Double at the price of £76 including english breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.
18/09 Superior Single at £48 including English breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.
18/09 Superior Twin at £96 including English breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.Prices are per room per night.
20/09 Superior Double or Twin £96 including English breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.
Anyone recommend a "spase" anywhere else for the 19th?
Try booking through Expedia, as the hotel seems to have block spaces reserved for online booking agents such as Expedia. They had confirmed space available as of yesterday.
Also try the Ryan London (another Thistle Hotel) - looks to me like its cheaper and its only about 400yds away.
Thanks folks will do!
Anyone need a lift re: msg 246?
Well, I'm at the Ryan, so you won't be the only one. Thanks for the tip 4eyes. :)
|Well, I'm at the Ryan, so you won't be the only one. |
I always leave the hotel booking until too late.
In Boston I ended up staying in three different Hotels over 5 days :(
See you there :D
I'm in. :)
Just paid! I'm a pub conference virgin so please be kind to the shaking girl with the pale face nervously glugging red wine at the bar ;)
See you all there, can't wait!
Just finished all travel preparation. We're in. Me and a co-worker.
I'm already there!
Allybongo839 - I'll also be a lonely, extremely smiley, pale faced girly - maybe we could meetup?
See you all soon!
Ladies, you'll be fine. This crowd is relatively friendly. Just keep your ears peeled for geek speak and then wander over to join in. We don't bite - well, most of us don't anyway. ;)
|I always leave the hotel booking until too late ... ...Try booking through Expedia.. |
Yeah, I'm always to late in booking these things as well..
So I just did my first time Expedia booking, flight and Thistle hotel.
Quite a good experience I must say.
Even got back an emailed Outlook appointment set from them,
including the e-ticket - synch'ed to my Mobile SE P800 - presto - life can be easy!
<<added - not so perfect - for non UK residents - you need an English address - for security -emergency >>
Can anyone confirm that these Expedia Hotel bookings will hold - given that normal bookings for the Thistle Islington Hotel seem full?
See you all there..!
I posted a guide to recommended bars and restaurants within range of the Thistle Hotel here [webmasterworld.com]. I hope you find it useful.
Just bought the ticket, I'm in.
Be my third pubcon and me other halfs second
Forgoing one of the biggest gatherings of VW vans ever, but hey its well worth it..
Can anyone get hold of any Makers Mark?
Cant seem to get it over here in the uk, just want to be prepared!
>>Can anyone get hold of any Makers Mark?
I can pretty much guarantee there will a be a bottle or 2 floating around :)
Cheers lorax - geek speak'll do for me!
Thank Cazgh! I'll look out for you at the bar! And thanks Lorax, I've got a feeling that I'm going to enjoy this!
Which airport is the closest?
I'm a total London newbie and not much of a traveler. I'd appreciate any pointers.
Just looking for a bit less pricey alternative to the thistle, the Ryan is mcuh better already, but I'm on the cheap, so any other recommendations?
New one on me. Afraid my drink knowledge is limited to above Hadrians Wall.
Anyone swaps for some Lagavulin?
Watch out ladies for Lorax, he will sweep you off your feet! (These Canadians :) )
>> I can pretty much guarantee there will a be a bottle or 2 floating around :)
Just wanted to bring my own to replace what i drank last year!
>> These Canadians
Um...I live in the USA last time I checked - unless that GATT treaty gave away more than I was aware of. ;)
