e-mail money service in European language?

I have searched everywhere and am getting a little desperate. I would like to accept payment online. But do not want to go through the hassle of a merchant account. So am thinking more along the lines of a paypal (e-mail money) like service.

I am targeting Europe. So, the crunch is that I would like an e-mail money service that people can sign up for in French, German etc.

I do not want to use paypal. Does anyone know of an alternative e-mail money service that supports European languages (for instance French)?

I would be really, really interested to hear of any services that offer an ATM card, such that you can withdraw money from your electronic account at ATM's worldwide. I know of one company that offer this ATM service - but their sign up is only in English! A mirror image of their english service, but in French (and/or German, spanish), would be perfect.

P.S I know another site that has European language sign up on its website. But am not into this service as their sign up process is so complicated. They require e-mailing/faxing of documents (passport copy, utility bill etc.) to open an account. Crazy. How many of my customers are going to want to do that? Also, they don't offer the ATM card for the account that I am so keen on.

I would be so, so, so grateful if anyone can help me out. I really am lost.

That's a very good question rhodopsin.

I have been looking for european payment processors myself and had a hard time finding one that would fit our needs. We looked at paypal, but as you mention, their setup requirements for europeans are ridiculous (copies of passports, credit cards etc etc) No way I'm going there.

We finally ended up rolling our own and setting up a merchant account. It was a hazzle getting all the paper work done, but I hope we soon will have everything up and running. I'll keep you posted here.

I hope some the other Europeans here will give you a experiences as well. Good luck :)

RE: "another site that has European language sign up on its website. But am not into this service as their sign up process is so complicated. They require e-mailing/faxing of documents (passport copy, utility bill etc.) to open an account"

I didn;t know that Paypal in French required a passort copy etc to sign up. Yet another reason why I don't want to use them then.

I have searched so long and hard for a user friendly e-mail money service in french. I am getting really desperate now as still haven;t managed to upturn anything. Perhaps we could try posting on a French webmaster forum? Does anyone know a major webmaster forum in French? Especially if it has an e-commerce section.

Looks good so far.

Would still be extremely grateful for any other European payment options people may be able to provide.

We could build up a nice little resource witb this thread - given the lack of infromation on european payment options out there. I have searched so hard and still only come up with just a few companies.
