Internet users can now use a search technology for surfing the World Wide Web that offers two clear advantages over the competitors in the German-speaking countries: on the one hand, Seekport makes use of the biggest complete German language index currently offered by any search engine. And on the other, this index is maintained and constantly updated by a national index team, unlike those used by competitors.

Hmmm... and how often do they plan to update their index?
The results I could find were all at least half a year old. Definitively not the "biggest complete German language index currently offered by any search engine" either. I'm positive that Google alone has more german language pages listed.

Other than that, their results look decent, but not brilliant. About half the time their categorization is ridculously wrong.

Yes, I have the same impression. The dates on my sites seem outrageously old. I checked my logs for unknown spiders on those dates but couldn't find any evidence for a new one. If I'm not mistaken, I think I read somewhere that they have a relation to Infoseek. Maybe that's where their "initial" results come from (purely speculation).

The categorization algo seems to have some twitches, although currently there are only seven categories.

Let's see what they can do. I'll try to keep an eye on them.
