Under the new, exclusive deal, Espotting's top five German listings appear on freenet search result pages under the heading 'Sponsoren-Links' (Sponsored Links). Espotting's listings are clearly differentiated from freenet's other search results to ensure to distinction between commercial and organic listings for their Internet users. Results for freenet's search pages were previously supplied by Overture.
Espotting have recently been focusing on "alternative" traffic drives, as they seem to have been squeezed out by Overture & Google in Europe. I guess Freenet cannot be that big, otherwise surley the big 2 would have increased the size of the pot over and above what e-spotting could afford.
But I suppose if your willing to cut your margin to keep the auction model from stagnating, its better than nothing at all.
Regardless of size it's good we've got a European provider who is still competing.
