I am looking for the best way to submit to MSN.ch. I was looking for a submit form but was not able to locate it. :(
Anyone have any tips for me?

Hi Timona,

MSN is using Looksmart for it's "reviewed websites" and Inktomi for the rest. Get your site into Looksmart and it should appear.

I know, finding a way to submit to local Looksmarts is not that easy, but maybe going through Looksmart?

I thought Looksmart only accepts English sites. The sites that I want to get into MSN.ch are in German, French and/or Italian.

Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction of where to best submit to MSN.ch?

Sorry timona, I made a typo there..

Suggestion was to contact Looksmart.com and have them point you in the right direction. Most local MSN's have either their own editors or use LS.

I pressume that the Swiss MSN Search is handled by the German editors at MSN.de through Allesklar [allesklar.suche.msn.de] (popup).

Thanks rumbas, :)

That makes more sense. I'll try to contact them and see what they say.

Hi Timona, just to make sure: what Rumbas says is absolutely correct. The entrance to german language MSN portals, Switzerland, Austria and Germany is a listing in Allesklar.de.
The thing with MSN is of course you have to be lucky to hit a spot where those listings actually make it to the top of the serps.

The French version of msn.ch has its own (free) submission form:
[search2.msn.fr...]

is it possible to get your website listed on the MSN search for free if its a non-profit site?

Turbo, you are talking about msn.ch, right?

You have two options:
- Get picked up by Inktomi. They do spider sites, good chances have sites with an odp listing.
- if your site is a german language site, submit to allesklar.de. They still have a free submit. Be prepeared to wait.

MSN.ch has its own manually researched directory, that is displayed prior to the German Allesklar.de results. For many searches, this directory has hardly any listings, so the ones that are in are laughing. Good stuff to be in there. However, there is no official submit form. You can't pay to get in.

I have heard that they are working on a submit form for this directory, but I don't know when it will be online and if it will be free or paid.

i asked someone at msn.ch and they said there will be a free url submission form (for the msn.ch-directory). he said it will be there in march, so i am also still waiting for that.

It's actually quite easy if I'm not mistaken to get listed on MSN.ch if you're willing to pay for clicks. Just register with Overture for the German market which covers MSn.de and MSN.ch amongst others

Welcome to the board, Plukje

You are right of course. It's only so much nicer to have free traffic.
