AOL.fr does Google only for international results. French results (default search option) is provided by Exalead. The Exalead search engine also integrates ina very clever way the directory listings into the serps, along with the very good topic section at the top of the serps.
Good search solution. And I'm really glad Exalead didn't get trashed in favour of Google.

A thread [webmasterworld.com] about a deal between AOL and exalead. Unfortunately I really donīt know how it works.
Try it out and give us a bit informations (if not someone else can help us...). [posted exact the same time! great!] heini, what about the question about the different searchresults? I think itīs interesting to know why there are differences between Google.fr and AOL.web-mondial. Do you know anything?

The search engine used by AOL.fr is Exalead, make a search on the forum you will get the discussion about that.

Yep Exalead looks to work fine with Aol, and Aol did rise again in the 10 best portals (traffic from SE) mesured by some SEO since they partnerd with exalead. Best regards

Just curious... Until lately -probably last summer- aol.fr was displaying results from Inktomi for its Web mondial/International section. I missed the move to Google. Does anybody know when this move was made? Thanks.

I think it was last spring or beginning of the summer. Thats nearly the same period when exaleadcame up on aol france. Best regards
