DMOZ: What happens when you MOVE your listing?
Do all the scraper directories change automatically?

I am going to have my listing moved to a different cat in DMOZ/Google directory. I am wondering what the implications are.

For instance, for all those sites that use the DMOZ listings as their own, will those be updated automatically(i.e. do they just use a straight feed?), or will many of those directories keep the same link to me?

Thanks.

You can't really do that. -- You can suggest a change, but that does not mean that DMOZ agrees it should be moved.
I am wondering what the implications are.

If the category editor believes that it does not belong in its current category, it will be removed and added to the pool of sites for consideration in another category for that category editor to consider.

DMOZ produces a weekly update of data base. All the 4000 or so directories that use DMOZ database download and update when the feel like it. Some have not done it for years...some do it weekly.

Why do you want it moved?

What cbpayne said.

What cbpayne said is one option, however the editor processing the update request may publish it straight into the new category if they have permissions. An update request to change categories will entail a re-review of the site to determine its relevancy to the requested category.
will those be updated automatically

Scraper sites will update when the ODP changes as they really do scrape the live pages. Those sites that update via the RDF download do it on their own schedules, some will update weekly, some never, and the rest somewhere in between.
