We have been listed with Yahoo for seven years in a good PR
directory, and also in a crappy regional directory.

Our regional directory is still there but the good directory listing is gone after seven years.

Why would an editor get rid of a site after 7 years, we are a leader in the industry, unless it was because the listing was always free.

They are God, basically. It could be any reason, heck most reasons for dumping sites are illogical and probably have nothing to do with good business sense. If I dump a site, it's usually because of multiple submissions/spamming a certain category, and yesterday I found my site not showing up on Yahoo serps.

I've given up on Google and Yahoo as an effective means of advertising and may refuse to use their search at all.

There are other players ya know!

Kicking sites out of the serps is a way of forcing you to spend to stay in. Yes it's that simple!

I sometimes think there is too much analysis on here. It's about profit people... Yahoo etc, want your cash, so they delete listings lol
