Directories that Advertise
And them that don't

This has been a pet hate of mine since directories came onto the web. Now we all know the big 2 advertise on a regular basis - Yell and Thomson's adverts are entertaining and helps maintain their presence, but that's about all it does for them as I find both directories boring, they are old, stale and give litle ROI, but at least they DO advertise. Yell also uses MAIDEN, so are obviously serious about driving traffic.

The others don't advertise, and many of them lie about their ad campaigns - which can't be doing their PR much good. Are the rest in a strong enough financial position to be able to afford £35K a TV campaign - I don't think so. I haven't even heard any Radio station adverts for any of the 2nd tiers,I find this most strange that they aren't willing to try and do anything for their paying advertisers.

Has anyone seen adverts for any other directories? As I haven't in the last 7 years.
