What's the best way to approach this

 6:21 pm on Dec 28, 2000 (gmt 0)

I thought I might start at the bottom like I know absolutely nothing and erase my predispositions about Directories.....;) AAAAHHH that's better.

Now from our collective genius, WHAT'S the plan for success in directory listings. Particularly DMOZ. Look$mart. YeeHaw. Anybody got a plan?

First, get over to NBCi LiveDirectory. Before you click the submit button, spend some quality time on your title, description, and 5 keywords.

As for Looksmart, if the title and description is flowing through to Altavista as we're discussing here [webmasterworld.com], well... this could be big stuff. I'd hold off a week or two more to see how this shakes out.

While I was there at DMOZ I signed up to be an editor.

Why NBCi, rc?

I did what you said. It seems they have a paid upgrade solution too. Not worth it for the 2 hits a month I get from them.

#1 Easy kill.
#2 Some meta engines are picking up NBCi, you may get a secondary referral
#3 I'm NBCi's poster child

I can't recommend doing that unless your site happens to hit their demographic dead-on, then they can be a gusher. (Sorry, NBCi)
