I feel a little out of my depth on this site as I am just a londoner running a small company in the UK. My problem is I just can't get listed on dmoz which I understand is a very important site to get listed on. Can't get any feedback except the remark "a little less like ee cummings please". Thats an insult I think, I looked it up and it was an author that couldn't spell. So I am getting someone to check the spelling and grammar on the site and there are a few errors. However I wonder if there are other reasons I could get rejected. If anyone could look at the site and tell me whats wrong before I reapply it would be much appreciated

Greg, you may want to ask about your site at Resource Zone in case you haven't done so yet.
There are several reasons why a site can be rejected, but spelling and grammatical errors (or bad design) per se are not reasons to reject a site unless they prevent a visitor from accessing or understanding your content.

Probably nothing wrong with it. Its likely to just be sitting in a queue somewhere waiting to get reviewed. If its a legit business and the site works it'll probbaly show up after a while. They usually do.
RZ will provide a status of the submission but generally that's about it. It doesn't help get the site listed any faster.

He most certainly could spell! He didn't capitalize conventionally. Well, he didn't space, punctuate or use grammar conventionally. And he was among the first -- if not THE first -- to use typography to express his poetry.
While I will agree that it may have been inappropriate, I don't think you should be insulted.
