| DMOZ-to-AOL Propagation How often? Is it important? |

msg:469818 | 11:08 pm on Mar 8, 2003 (gmt 0) | Before finding WebmasterWorld, I used to think that having my site in the AOL (DMOZ) Directory would be a huge boost to traffic (for my relatively small site), given the gazillion AOL users out there. But I don't see much discussion here, even a site search turned up little. Is traffic from the AOL-DMOZ directory negligible? Any estimates on when they will update the directory, given the successful RDF dump? Thanks in advance.

It does give you a Google link which helps a little if you don't have many, like less than a dozen or so. I have never quite figured out how AOL ranks the directory listings - it seems to change a lot. I suppose if you showed up on the first page it would help.
