Anyone know if any of the other excite portals have closed shop yet?

Anyone know of any Excite portals which should close up shop? I mean, come on now, really! This is silly. If we're not careful we could be out of the job. GoTo could get everything, then we're in trouble. Can we not help in any way. This is that Disney guy's fault!

Excite@Home has already closed the German, Spanish and French versions of the site, or -- more correctly -- excite.fr and excite.d are now just shells without a local editorial staff.

The Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Austrian and Swiss sites will follow suit on August 31.

The British and Italian sites, however, lives on -- for now.

Well I say let the old dinosaurs die. I'm hoping the new engines such as Teoma and Wisenut perform well.

Out with the old and in with the new.
