|Rumort: Wisenut has been sold|
So said a search engine representative.

I got to spend a few minutes talking with a search engine representative recently. The topic turned to a search engine with what I believe is great potential, Wisenut.
"I really like Wisenut," I said to him. "If only they would update the index from time to time."
"I got a call from someone at Wisenut the other day who told me 'We have been sold!'" said my companion.
"Really. Who bought it?" I asked.
"I can't tell you, but I don't think you're going to be happy with the news."
Hmmm, does that mean Overture bought it? Are there any reports running around about the sale of Wisenut?

Nope. We've search high and low - called in several markers. No other info at this time.

If it has been sold, I hope they do something with it. I have great positions, thousand pages and no traffic.

does that mean Overture bought
I can't see that as the greatest choice for purchasers......in my opinion.

Danny Sullivan's newsletter of today indicates the new buyer of Wisenut is: LookSmart. "Rumort" is now a "report."

And, Mr. Sullivan may have read it right here first when it was announced just 14mins after the initial press release ;)
