I've heard from numerous sources that when your type in "keyword phrase" in My Space's search bar that the top results are the people's profiles who've logged in the recently.
I've found this to be false by typing in "star wars costumes" and coming up with random profiles with the word star wars in them only once or twice.
I'm not finding any common traits of these top ranked results either. For the top ranked results for the keyword phrase they have a various number of friends from 1-10,0000 they logged in last from yesterday to two years ago, they have blogs they update regularily or they don't... etc.
So we understand Google's algorithum to some extent but not My Space?
People might be interested to know that IceRocket has been crawling MySpace and is currently the best search for MySpace content. The Yahoo search currently serving web results for them is nothing special. Maybe that's why they are talking to MSN and Google now.
