Hi
Hi i am new around here and i was wondering if you could help me out. I recently install traxis onto my server but i don't know how to install the .htaccess file. This is whati done so far.
-i made a file call .htaccess and put
AddType text/html .htm .html .shtm .shtml .sht
AddHandler server-parsed .htm .html .shtml .sht .shtm
in it. Is their anything else that i should have?

The error that i am getting is this
SSI error: Unknown tag 'ECHO var="DATE_LOCAL" '
Can anyone help?

I don't think it is a problem with your .htaccess.
That seems like it might be a typo in your ssi call, try deleting it and replacing it with this
<!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL" -->

Thanks
I now know that my SSI is working.
I have another problem hoping that somebody can help me out.
<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/traxis/traxis-counter.cgi?site=lucky"-->
I added that to my html but it is not recording any hits.
Do i have to make extra configuration the traxis-counter.cgi
I don't think i do since traxis-counter is in the main folder.
Could someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

Well, it can help and probably should be done. Open up the counter program in a text editor. Near the top are two lines similar to these:

$traxis_dir ="/pathto/cgi-bin/traxis/";
$data_path = "/pathto/cgi-bin/traxis/data/";

Edit thos two paths (include trailing slash). The first is to the main traxis cgi-bin dir (where the traxis executables are), and the second is to the data directory where config files are stored (usually a directory called "data" off the main traxis directory.
