Reciporical Links/ page ranking
Desparate help needed please

 12:06 pm on Feb 25, 2003 (gmt 0)

I am young and I wont lie kinda ignorant when it comes to the web. I am in my first job out of school and my boss has given me the task of setting up links and in doing so "improving" our page ranking. I have more than trebled our links on our links page but seen no reward on the PR side. Any clues would be much appreciated as this has also taken a long long time.

Hello Skylo

You wont see any "reward" until google update which shoul be be any day soon. Google update monthly wrt TBPR.

You will just have a wait a few days. :)

You don't improve your Page Rank by placing links on your pages (your more likely to decrease it), you need to get other websites to link to your website. If you read some of the threads in the Link Development forum you'll get all the advice you need on how to go about this.

I read that wrong, skylo, sorry if I mislead

To increase PR you need to get inbound links from external sites. If you are increasing your number out bounds that will not help. Link to related sites if you can. Have a look through this forum. There will be lots of ways and suggestions to building link popularity.
