|Higher rankings with links?|
Which pages will move up?
| 3:08 pm on Jan 31, 2003 (gmt 0)|
Assuming that good links help your rankings on search engines...
If a majority of other web sites (with good PR) are linking to the same page deep within my web site, will that be the only page (within my site) that moves up in the SE rankings?
Shouldn't everyone be linking to my home page so my home page moves up in the rankings? Or, will all my pages automatically receive better rankings due to that one page everyone linked to?

You want to be able to move the PR to important pages on your site. If most of the incoming links to your site are to an internal page, make sure that you link to other pages on your site.
Use keyword rich link text to describe the linked to page, and make sure the title and the body text of the receiving page also includes the keyword you are targeting.
