Link Development Forum

About a year ago, I remember getting a few emails every day, from people requesting reciprocal links. But lately, I'm only getting one or two per month. Have others noticed this pleasant decline in emailed reciprocal link requests?

If you had not included the phrase "pleasant decline", you would have got an email from me requesting a reciprocal link :)

Stevenha, feel free to fwd them all to me. After replying with std msg "why zeus type linkfarms have no value" many of them agree to put link on better parts of their sites. Got many high PR links with little effort :)

Hi vibgyor79 & rzfree,

I didn't mean to single out Zeus, and sure, I've sought out reciprocal links myself. It is an essential activity for sites starting out.

But I think I've noticed a change, a trend perhaps, whereby I'm receiving far fewer of the reciprocal link request emails. I was wondering if others are noticing it too?

Haven't gotten any in ages. I got one a week or so ago that claimed to be a PR8. Under what TERMS, I wondered? It didn't come up under any terms I was interested in so I declined. But it was nice to feel wanted.

Perhaps it is due to your new criteria of accepting links? Did you notice the change after you dumped your old list? Not being in the "collective" may have something to do with it?

My theory is that things are slow in Summer and for me my formmail script hasn't been working for a few months. Most of the requests are junk anyway.
