If you can choose: Banner, text link or both?
The best trade in a 1:1 exchange

If you have another website that agrees linking to you from it's homepage, a 1:1 exchange, what would you ask:

1) Banner 468 x 60
2) Text link
3) Banner 468 x 60 + text link

Banner is more clickeable I think. But text link may contain a good anchor but is less noticeable and less clickeable.
Banner + text link each linking to same page (2 hrefs) sounds good to me.

What do you say

Personally, as a web surfer, I click 100x more text links (to external sites) than banners.

As a webmaster, I almost always request a text link, but on some other sites plastered with banners I'll ask that my very eyecatching banner be used. A text link would be lost amongst so much noise. Just my 2c.

I click mostly banners than text link and only see the advantage of anchor picking just text link...

i think i clicked more on text link than banner but then again I cant say everybody does that since I know what text link is. I would go for banner and text link at the same time.
