Is this an honest link exchange? Received link requests from two different webmasters aleatrix msg:427919 10:17 pm on Mar 16, 2005 (gmt 0) Recently I received link exchange requests from two different webmasters for the same five sites. At first I thought it was the same webmaster using different names to try to hook me, but after I agreed to exchange links with one webmaster, I still received a link exchange request from the other.
Is this some kind of new link exchange trick I'm not aware of? What would you do?

Never heard of such a trick. Looks like a lack of coordination to me. Matt Probert msg:427921 8:15 am on Mar 17, 2005 (gmt 0)
There are standard "respectfully request to exchange links" spam emails flying around. Always check that your link wont just sit on a link farm page.

The possibilites are numerous:
Maybe the company which sent the request is Outsourcing link development and they are also trying to procure links internally and therefore the duplication of the message.
or maybe, your sites were featured twice on the lists handed out to people sending link requests messages.
or maybe, they thot' two mails from different id's have a better chance of being read then one mail.

exchange links and move on to the next request.
