Does anyone have any suggestions on a good way to get people to link to my site? What works? What doesn't? Thanks

  • search for keywords and add url, you'll find some that will let you add a link, others that will trade reciprocal links.

  • look for pages related to yours, but not in direct competition. Look over the page, then write a nice email complimenting them on it, and that you'd like to swap links.

  • even better, call them on the phone. Some get too many email requests and ignore them. Remember you're asking for a favor so be polite, and understanding if they can't/won't.

  • offer html code they can cut and paste on your site. Lots of us are lazy, make it easy. This also lets you pick the anchor text.

Offer something of value that they will want to link to, such as content, forums, useful tools, etc. That is always the best way.
