Some Questions Regarding My Switch To Firefox

 3:21 am on Jul 19, 2004 (gmt 0)

I have just now downloaded and installed Firefox(was a LONG time user of IE)...and I am having some problems. The first one I ran across, is that I downloaded some extra skins- but when I try to change my existing skin, the skin window locks up and nothing happens. How can I stop this?

My second question is: when I use Firefox, I have no side scrollbar. I can only use the scroll wheel on my mouse. Is this normal? Is there any way that I can change it to a scrollbar?

I have not used this browser much so far, but if I can get past these problems...I think I will love it.

I've also noticed that skins don't work properly but that doesn't really bother me.

I've never had any problem with scrillong, it always worked from the start. What OS have you got?

I am using Windows XP Home Edition. I finally got my scrollbar back. I found another thread to answer another Firefox problem I was having. When I implimented the fix, my scrollbar came back, and so did my icons in the toolbars.

Now, I am trying to find the post that gave the instructions to "speed up" Firefox a little bit. I believe I am going to like Firefox....once I get use to it. I have been playing with it now for about 2 hours.

I still cannot get the "themes" window working yet. It shows my list of skins, and allows me to select one. When I click the "Use Theme" button....it greys out as if it is changing the theme- but nothing happens. The window stays open, and when I close it...my theme is still the original. I also added some icons to a new toolbar, but it only allows me one "go" icon. I used it next to my address bar- but now I don't have one to use next to my Google Search. Oh well, I will get it lined up eventually. This is new to me. :)

For the search you don't need a button, just hit the enter key...

I had to close the browser and then open it again for the new theme to take over.
