Never had that problem with Opera. Had similar problems with Windows, but that's a different story ;)

Could be a server issue or network issue. I've seen this behavior before, but it's not limited to Opera. Generally, all browsers do this if a server is slow.

I have noticed this problem. Sometimes the page will just quit loading all together. I stop the process and reload. This usually does the trick.

I get that problem once or twice a day with Opera. But I get it with *any* browser or ftp client or other internet connection I have. It just happens more with Opera because I use it the most. I've tried all the things I can think of, and not found a solution. I lookf forward to finding an answer futher down this thread :)

Funny, that's actually the same problem I had with IE "back in the day." I do have some minor stability issues on one of the four computers I run Opera on, but I think there's something else conflicting with it.

lol, it's not a Windows problem this time, because I never had it before. ;) I don't think it's a server or network issue either. It's happening on so many different sites.... I don't have a problem with the page not loading eventually and I can't stop and reload it because it acts as if it's frozen. But, since no one seems to be really getting the same issue as me, it's probably my computer. :\ Jennifer

Strange, I've been having the same problem but thought it was something about my connection. Never as long though, usually the page continues loading after a few seconds.

Version 7.21 gave me more of this type problem than other versions, some of them were network related too I suspect. 7.23 seems much better but... Are you using Sun's Java Virtual Machine (the BIG download with Opera) or the M$ JVM? I suspect there were problems with Sun's Version 1.41 released about the same time as Opera 7.21. I'm presently using Sun's 1.42_02 with 7.23 and it's working very nicely! If memory serves, the M$ JVM still has numerous security issues. Use Sun's JVM! I just won't use any M$ software for web related work except to surf my own sites to check rendering in IE. Sorry, there's too many security holes.

I'm using 1.4.2_01 that came with 7.23. I'll download 1.4.2_02 now and see if that fixes the problem, but I've been wondering if there is a network problem on my comp.... When I go into network connections, there is nothing there and I'm also getting a lowid on eMule which I don't think I should be getting. I don't know if the problem is related or not. :\ The site that seems to give me the most trouble is hotmail, but I also hang on a lot of other sites. Jennifer

i've been using 7.x for about 6 months now, and i am happy with it. The only time i see funny happenings, is with NIS involved!

So far so good. I did notice when I went to hotmail that the page still took about 30 seconds to load because it got hung up on an ad, I'm wondering if that had something to do with it.... Jennifer

Opera's pop-up blocker works flawlessly for me. If you haven't tried it...
