Opera taking a step towards rich text editing?
New Opera beta added a few interesting functions.

I was glancing through the changelog [opera.com] for the 2nd Opera 8 beta and I noticed an interesting item:
Added support for document.selection and document.getSelection in form input fields.

I'm not too familiar with DHTML stuff, but from a bit of quick searching this seems to be a step towards rich text editing support. Thoughts?

This sounds like basic text support. These could apply to rich text or any sort of formatted text, but I doubt that it does.
