Internet Explorer 1 was rolled out ten years ago, along with Windows 95. Microsoft seems to have made no official public flurry about the milestone whatsoever. In fact, they seem to be intentionally passing on an opportunity for press attention!
In contrast, Opera is also turning 10 -- and they're going to have an online virtual party: [my.opera.com...]
In addition, there's a lot of buzz that the Opera anniversary will be coupled with some kind of big announcement - there's some speculation that this might be a change in the desktop browser's business model (ad-free and totally free some hope). Well, Opera has built other revenue streams, from its embedded small screen browser in smartphones for instance. So, just maybe?
Pretty junky looking graphic alltogether ..maybe some execs kid did it ..hope they choose a career other than illustration .. Don't think I need to worry about the competition from that one ..
And I know it's off topic Tedster .. But.. Why do so many people and companies think that the quality of the illustration isn't important ..that kind of stuff on a first page is just cringe makeingly bad , ugly and dumb ..
And certainly won't make their browser the choice of many artists..free , ad supported or otherwise ..
Shows they either have a very low opinion of illustration ..or are totally incompetant at distinguishing good work from bad ..
Didn't someone attempt to spam the fora with an IE birthday hype the other day ..,
