MySQL Configuration Wizard

5+ Year Member

Msg#: 38 posted 2:00 pm on Sep 18, 2005 (gmt 0)

I'm running through the config wizard starting it from the command prompt, in the bin directory of wamp(5)/mysql. At the end tho when it executes to set everything up (should I have wamp running at the time or not?) it says it cannot find the 'my-template.ini' which I have located in the main sql directory one level up from bin. Do I need to copy the file to another location?

It's the first time I've used any of this, embarking on a new database driven project.

Any help I'd be most grateful

The MySQL Configuration Wizard firsts determines various configuration file options based on your choices using a template prepared by MySQL AB developers and engineers. This template is named my-template.ini and is located in your server installation directory.

yep those are the instructions I followed, I can find the file...the configuration wizard can't when using all the default options generally, maybe I just need to specify a new path somewhere but cheers
