Domain for the Spanish language market Which domain to choose for the Spanish market angiolo msg:1578236 12:31 pm on Apr 3, 2001 (gmt 0) Hi all!
We are preparing our web site in the spanish language.
We are going to register it with spanish keywords.
With reference to the domain, which suffix do you suggest ?
.com or a Regional one (for example .es).
We would like to promote it in any spanish language directory (not specifically in Spain, but in South america too).
If we got a Venenzuelan or Argentinian dominion would it be OK?
The question is: some directories accept only filtered spanish language dominions; is there a preferred one or any spanish dominion is OK (.es or .ar or .mx or .ve etc.) ?

.es seems to be the preferred ending for spanish domains. Even so, you can afford to go dotcom'less. rencke msg:1578238 5:16 pm on Apr 3, 2001 (gmt 0)
Spain requires legal presence for their domain. Spanish speaking countries in Latin America might be a possibillity and seem to get just as good rankings as .es . However, the most popular engines in the Spanish speaking world seem to be American, so you can probably settle for a dot-com with a good spanish keyword in it. angiolo msg:1578239 10:15 am on Apr 4, 2001 (gmt 0)
Thank you to all!
Probably we will try with a south american dominion.
I think that a spanish language dominion can only help.
