Since the channels are out today I am able to report several things about yesterday. The first thing is that my earnings did infact recover 100%. Just looking at the raw stats, I can easily tell that I have earned far more yesterday than I did the past 2 days combined. Also, overall CPM is around where it should be: $1.50-2.00
By looking at the channels things have clearly not recovered. I have two sites which both get over 1,000 visitors, one around 1,000 the other anywhere between 1,900 and 3,500 per day. The site with 1,000 visitors got the chunk of the earnings and had a great CPM. Infact it was one of the better CPMs which I have had.
The second site, which, I think should earn a lot more over the long term and was since this 'incident'. Actually had another HORRID day. $0.38 CPM! It is the highest in the past four days! That is how crap the earnings were during that time. And the time before that wasn't much better since last Monday, which was normal.
This 'second site' should not be hit with smartpricing if there was such a thing on Yahoo. When with Adsense, this site actually made more after smartpricing took effect, so seeing the CPM go down is a little odd to say the least.
So, what I am going to do is try and change the ad targeting to see if that helps.
Since today is Monday, one of my biggest earnings days for some weird reason, since I get more traffic on Tuesday/Wednesday, I hope for an improvement. If not, well... I don't know what to do.
