======================
30 DAY REPORT CARD
======================

Customer Service: A

Although Yahoo's Email assignments sometimes came in a bit late, Yahoo earned itself an A with Extra Credit work in Telephone Calls 101.

Earnings Per Click: A+

Yahoo continues to excel in this area and is by far the top student in the class.

RELEVANCY: C-

Yahoo shows some distraction now and then. Has some trouble learning and adjusting to new topics. Compensates for this with wonderful Earnings.

AD SERVING SPEED: A-

Generally a treat to have in class.

AD CUSTOMIZATION: A-

All major formats are supported and customizable in the book reports we've received. We'd love to see the ability to customize flexible (nonfixed) text ad units to all turned-in book reports in the near future.

NEW FEATURE INTRODUCTION: A

Yahoo's willingness to openly poll the teachers on features before working on them is very refreshing.

RSS COMPATIBILY: B

Although only required as an extracurricular activity for senior students, Yahoo nevertheless exhibited an interest and is making some successful strides in this subject. If they can be tutored in Blogger and Custom Feeds by the next report card, they will be at the top of their class.

GEOTARGETTING: D

Yahoo has so far refused to play with international members of the classroom. We try to encourage diversity here and hope to see improvements in this area.

PAYMENTS: Incomplete

Yahoo was absent the day of the Checks test, but will retake it soon. We will correct this grade at that time. Please make sure Yahoo studies for the upcoming EFT test!

XML/EXCEL COMPATIBILITY: A

Yahoo has mastered advanced CSV file exportability.

3RD PARTY API COMPATIBILITY: Incomplete

Yahoo hasn't taken any tests in this course yet.

COMMENTS

Overall pleasure to have in our class. The daily polished apples are very thoughtful. We're pretty impressed so far with Yahoo's overall production and work ethic. If you can devote some time to helping Yahoo with Relevancy homework, then a bright future lies ahead.

Customer Service: F
Don't give me that stuff about how calling is better, it makes it more personal etc. I don't want that. Return my emails once in a while please! I have sent more than 10 emails to YPN and never received a responce. The only call I ever received was about just introducing me and asking if everything was ok... nothing like what I want.

Earnings Per Click: A+
YPN, I love how much you pay per click.

RELEVANCY: C-
Could be a lot better. With ad-targetting it shows related ads, it's just that all the ads are same page to page throughout the site with little variation.

Ad Serving Speed: C
I'm not seeing much difference between YPN and Adsense.

AD CUSTOMIZATION: D
The sizes available are great, you just need a better variaty. Where's the features I have asked for? They are late!

GEOTARGETTING: F
Not only is it not available to Foreign visitors, but it also shows NYC area ads when I'm in Kansas!

Payments: B-
Could be better with EFT. However, it is generally fast in receiving the check and the 45 day target is usually when I receive the check by... I would consider this normal and not far off the target time I am wishing for.

EPC: C
The payment was great over the first two months, but has dropped off since then. Maybe it is that more people are joining so they are draining the advertisers, I don't know. What I do know is that I was making 2 1/2 times more from it than what I am now. One site I even moved back to adsense, but in return I moved another site to there and it is making 1 1/2 times more there.

The reason for the C is for the inconsistancy. I don't want to plan things and have it killed overnight. I want to be able to see what is working and what's not. I want to work with you and not always be afraid of what might happen. If changes are made within the system, tell us. We want to know. If it's bad.. tell us anyways so we are prepared. Don't hide things from us, we aren't stupid.

In Addition
Find a way to give us the highest paying EPC by means of CTR + CPC, not just CPC alone. I want relivency for my visitors and with that formula it is possible.

To do this, perhaps switch the ads shown from page to page for the first week or so to get an idea of what works best PER PAGE (not site please!). Then after, set those ads to have priority, but do not just show those ads. Mix in some others. Everyone has repeated visitors, if they see the same ads over and over, it's not going to raise the possibility of them clicking on the ad.

I love you guys, you give me great traffic and are paying more than Adsense (although it is just a little). Please give us YPNLinks, YSearch and the related pages that pays I talked about before. Please oh please do this...

Customer Service: A
Response to all email questions within 24 hours and telephone support is great.

Earnings Per Click: A-
Was amazing and is now just great.

RELEVANCY: B-
Ads are dead on for 80% of my sites. I get goofy ads when I do a major site update and then the bad ads tend to last way too long after that. Overly specific sites and overly general sites tend to have very poor targeting.

AD SERVING SPEED: A
Good enough for me.

AD CUSTOMIZATION: C+
No ad link units is a major drawback.

NEW FEATURE INTRODUCTION: B
I like what they are introducing but I think it needs to happen a little more quickly.

RSS COMPATIBILY: B
I wanted ad link units first as RSS is nice but not great.

GEOTARGETTING: D-
I don’t want ads for Kansas coming up in my site for NJ…

PAYMENTS: B
Good enough for the time being. EFT for me, please!

XML/EXCEL COMPATIBILITY: A
Thanks for this YPN.

3RD PARTY API COMPATIBILITY: NA
Yahoo hasn't taken any tests in this course yet.

COMMENTS
YPN is a welcome change for advertising. The longer I use YPN the better I feel about them, I think YPN has a great future ahead of them.

Customer Service: F-

I was asked to join the beta. I signed up but didn't recieve an email with the account infomation. Called and they said they would call me back... never did.

Ten days later I get a call from a Yahoo publisher rep asking how was my experience. When I said what happened he said he would call me back... never did.

A month later I get ANOTHER call from a rep, you can guess what happened.

Sheesh.

Yep emodo... I don't know why so many people keep saying their support is so great. It has been horrible for me as well.

I'm not that oblivious asp4bunnies. What I meant was, how is it possible that it is so great to some but not others.

Or even a better question, why are the same people who say they don't get email responses the same ones who say they have great customer service because they get one phone call?

I ask this because there are people who have posted about getting one call and they were amazed, while that was the only thing they have heard from them, at all.
