Thanks for the IP. Turns out that' s one I didn't have. The only IP's that Google hit me with is in the 216.239.46.xxx range for that block. Snakey little so-and-so's. :)

Wow, a Python bot from google. That is interesting, I wonder if it was an employee wasting some VC money on a pet project?

I seem to remember reading that google use python extensively. Who knows this could even be a test version of a new crawler.
edit: see [google.com...] - python is mentioned loads of times. Dont care much for it myself :p
