webfountain from almaden.ibm.com did a pretty thorough crawl. Is this for IBM's use or is this spider feeding any search engines? Thanks.

IBM had touted research into their own "hub authority" modeled search engine. Clever was the name floating through the web.

But I hadn't seen anything else mentioned about it for several months.

What is the IP address, and user agent that showed on the crawls?

Referrer logs showed the following:

wfp2.almaden.ibm.com - - [01/Oct/2000:10:45:45 -0400] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.0" 404 139 "" "WebFountain "
wfp2.almaden.ibm.com - - [01/Oct/2000:10:46:16 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 10457 "" "WebFountain "

IP address is 198.4.83.38

Actual page is an IBM research page [almaden.ibm.com...]
